Beckett Cantley, JD, LLM

Prof. Beckett G. Cantley consults with CPA firms, law firms, and financial planning firms regarding their individual, family, business owner, and business entity clients in matters relating to Taxation, Captive Insurance Companies, Trusts & Estates, Corporations, Partnerships/LLCs, Probate and Probate Litigation, and International Business Transactions. Prof. Cantley is an Associate Professor of Law at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. Professor Cantley also serves as an Adjunct Professor teaching International Taxation at Northeastern University’s Masters in Taxation Program.

Prof. Cantley has authored several authoritative articles focusing on the current and future IRS strategy for attacking IRC 831(b) captive insurance companies and advising clients on compliance matters. His unique perspectives in this area derive from his twenty year career researching, publishing, and speaking on legislative and administrative tax, insurance, and financial topics, including the current and future potential direction of Federal legislation and IRS compliance.

Prof. Cantley graduated from University of California – Berkeley (undergrad), Southwestern University School of Law (cum laude), and obtained an LLM in Taxation from University of Florida.

Geoffrey C. Dietrich, JD

Geoff Dietrich focuses his practice on Tax Compliance for complex transactions and consults nationally with CPA firms and financial planning firms on specific aspects of client needs in the areas of Taxation, Trusts & Estates, Business Planning, Corporations/Partnerships/LLCs, and Probate and Trust administration. Geoff also serves as outside general counsel to mid-size to publicly traded companies. Geoff has developed his skill set as a tax attorney through seven years working closely with Professor Cantley and it was his unique expertise and work ethos that earned him his 50% ownership of the multi-million dollar, twenty-year firm practice.

Geoff has co-authored several articles on complicated transactions with Professor Cantley and regularly teaches Ethics, Business, or Estates-related Continuing Legal Education Courses or Continuing Education for CPA and Financial Advisors.

Mr. Dietrich graduated from the United States Military Academy (West Point), then obtained his J.D. degree from Brigham Young University Law School where he served as Managing Editor of the BYU Law Review. Geoff is also a combat veteran, having served as commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Infantry in Kuwait and Iraq. .
